How to use essential oils in everyday routines!

I remember when I first was introduced to essential oils. I wasn’t sure what they were and how to use them! I had so many questions it felt quite overwhelming at first! The easiest thing to do when I get overwhelmed is to just not use them and put them on the shelf! So that is exactly what I did for a while then I decided to do some research myself on them so I could feel more knowledgeable. I think my first oil was lavender, which at the time I had no idea there was so many uses for lavender! It was hard to imagine that in a tiny bottle there were SO many benefits that would support my family. I know that I felt slightly intimidated by essential oils and come to realize that I couldn’t be the only one! I’m hoping to help you if you are feeling intimidated but are looking for something for you family that will help support your family’s health in a more natural way! I look back and I understand now why I didn’t use them at first. Here I am, many years later they are my all time “Go to” when I need to clean, sanitize, needing support for my emotions or for my over all health! I wanted to give you some idea of what you can use in your household and for your family. These are just a few easy ways that you can use them around the house! 

Let’s talk about essential oils and some ways you can use them around your house!

Deodorize Your Fridge

Keep your refrigerator smelling clean, fresh and eliminate odors use Lemon and baking soda! Just add 20 drops of lemon oil to the small box of baking soda and put in on the shelf in your fridge. This should help keep your fridge odor free for at least a month!

Need energy boost?

Add peppermint essential oils to your favorite diffuser! Peppermint has a naturally invigorating effect that can help you feel more energized and alert!

Achy muscles?

Soreness in your muscle is caused by inflammation, which is why anti-inflammatory essential oils are great for sore muscles! Two oils that are great for that are lavender and Tea Tree (Melaluca). Add 5 drops of Tea Tree and 10 drops of lavender oil in a cup of Epsom salt. Add the mixture to a warm bath and soak! 

Scent your towels!

Infuse your towels with a fresh floral scent using lavender essential oil. Sprinkle 10-15 drops of lavender oil onto some dryer balls or a small cloth and toss it in the dryer with your washed towels!

General Cleaning!

Some of the most powerful essential oils for cleaning are lemon, lime, wild orange, peppermint and lavender. You can add 10-15 drops of your favorite essential oil in a spray bottle and add water! 

Carpet Stains!

While baking soda works to remove dirt and grime. Add 10-15 drops of Wild Orange to help with tough stains. 

There are many more tips and tricks on ways to incorporate essential oils into your daily household routines! I just wanted to share some to help give you an idea on how easy it is to work them in your busy family life on a daily basis. Keep in mind that the essential oils are pure and natural so they are very powerful! The saying is true that a little goes a long way! Essential oils are definitely cheaper to use than you think because you don’t need to use that much to get the same results as a typical product.
