Can I use Essential oils with the whole family?
The simple answer is YES! The more complex answer is not all of them can be used straight from the oil bottle without being diluted for children. There are also some simple things to keep in mind about oils. There are 3 ways to use oils is Aromatherapy or inhaling, topical and internal.
Let’s discuss how Aromatherapy works first. It uses a sense of smell and skin absorption. Diffusing is one of the MOST common and easiest way to use oils for your whole family! A diffuser can be placed anywhere in your home and all the people that are in your house will reap the rewards by inhaling the small particles of oil it dispurses into the air and absorbs into your skin. Usually diffusers come in many shapes and sizes so you can easily make it work right into your home décor without anyone even really noticing until they smell a delightful aroma as they walk into a room! Other ways to use your sense of smell is adding oils to bathing salts, body oil creams, hot and cold compresses, and clay masks. These can be used alone or in any combination. But again, my all time favorite is the DIFFUSER!
Second way to use essential oils is topically. This is where a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil (my carrier oil of choice), almond oil, Jojoba oil or an avocado oil. Any one of these carrier oils will provide a safe way to dilute before you use on your skin. Using a carrier oil will provide the barrier that will make sure its safe to use but always use oils with caution when you introduce them to your children. Just as you do new foods, laundry soaps, bath soaps, etc. You can easily dilute the oils yourself in a roller bottle, which I will be giving you easy step by step instructions on how to make your own on one of my freebies on my site! Third way to use oils is by taking them internally. Using essential oils internally is another great way to benefit your body and promote overall wellness. As you learn more about essential oils and start to incorporate them into your lifestyle, you will see how beneficial internal usage can be as well!

It’s a very simple way for the whole family to benefit! Put a diffuser in several rooms through out your house, add water, add oil of choice, push the start button and walk away! Most diffusers will diffuse anywhere from 4 – 14 hours depending on which one you purchase! They are safe to leave running and have automatic shut offs. You can start your whole family of their wellness journey as they play in their rooms, watch tv or while they sleep! It’s a win win!
